Description
Opened in 1953 by Victor Sassie who continued to be the proprietor for 34 years. Victor went to Budapest in 1932 where he learnt the trade under the famous restaurateur Karoly Gundel. The restaurant was named in honour of the elite of the Hungarian army.
Victor retired in 1988 and sold the Gay Hussar to The Restaurant Partnership Plc.
