Ali Baba's by TheFella

Newcastle-upon-Tyne, United Kingdom

Found at the top of the Bigg Market, this Persian gem had some exquisite dishes on the menu. The main courses were delicious, but my winner was the rice, which was absolutely delightful – the best thing being that everything came in more than ample portions! The décor of this eatery was as lush as a Turkish brothel, including bongs and some fantastic Iranian versions of songs, such as “The Sultans of Swing”. They even had an undersized stage with disco lights! The service was excellent, especially from the waiter, who had an air of Borat about him. Excellent value!
